What is E-Liquid?
E-Liquids, also referred to as vape juice or e-juice are the liquids that are placed inside the tank of an e-cigarette device in order to create a vapour. It is used in all electronic cigarettes. When heated and inhaled, this provides a similar experience a smoker may experience when they smoke a cigarette, however nothing is actually burned. This means that none of the toxins and harmful substances consumed when smoking a cigarette will be consumed. The liquid creates a vapour when heated that is inhaled and exhaled. E-liquid is made up by 4 key components; propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), nicotine and food-grade flavouring. There are thousands of different e-liquid flavourings for you to choose from, the majority of which are nicotine free, and are nic-shot ready (there is space left in the bottle for nicotine to be added), referred to as shortfills. For more information on nicotine itself please see our guide on nicotine.
Nicotine for E-Liquids
Most e-liquids are nicotine free, but leave room for you to add nicotine to your e-liquid to your needs. We have a range of guides to help you choose a nicotine strength that will suit you, especially if you are coming off of cigarettes. You can find them here.
What is a Shortfill E-Liquid?
These liquids are always nicotine-free and are sold in a short-fill bottle. This means that there is enough space left in the bottle to leave room for nicotine shots or nic salt shots to be added. This means that the cost of the bottle may be lower than buying traditional 10ml bottles. Generally, shortfills are sold in 50ml bottles, but this can vary, with some brands even selling a 160ml shortfill. See our nicotine guideline to find out what you need to add to your chosen shortfill to give your desired strength.
